Good biography for kids...

my son needed a book about "a real person who contributed something to society" for a book report. i suggested steve jobs because my son is learning so much about the computer. well... he read a chapter or two and took a "break." so i picked it up and read it in about a half an hour. it was very interesting. as an adult, i enjoyed it. i would never have the time to read an "adult" biography about jobs. my son ended up reading it all in a second sitting. i would recommended this book for elementary students (and their parents). **smile**

This is a great series. I bought Carter and immediately bough Rhys. My only criticism is that I found them a tad too short. I would have liked a few more pages that would allow getting to know the characters a bit more - but that also could have been because I just enjoyed the story so much. The heriones in the books are strong, educated and employed! Woot woot!! The heroes are amazing too with great dialogue and interaction between them. I am excited for the other guys to get their stories.

Part Romantic Comedy, part Action Suspense; Adrienne Bell managers to balance the two beautifully. Carter is the kick off book in the Sinner Saints series, and though it was a bit shorter than I would have liked, the author manages to set the scene and introduce the series all the while weaving a great first story. I was particularly impressed by how much depth there was to the characters considering the format. I thought there was enough back story to carry me through. The dialogue is witty and the pacing fast. I look forward to the next book.

This was amazing! Carter can save me any day! I loved the blood pumping action.

Ally is a journalist that is relentless when it comes to finding the truth. It's up to her to put the pieces together and let the world know about the corruption going on. But she can't do it alone. She needs help as powerful people want her silenced permanently.

Carter is caught in the web of lies, and he realizes that he needs to help Ally survive. He not only wants to protect her, but he also wants to comfort her in other ways.

Carter and Ally are wonderful together. In the beginning Ally was a little annoying because she had few tantrums, but her character was funny and ballsy.

About the Author
James Hayes is a founder of the Structured Cabling Association and President of The Fiber Optic Association, the professional society for fiber optics. He is also a partner in VDV Works, a company that provides technical support to the voice-data-video industry. Originally educated as a physicist and astronomer at Vanderbilt University and The University of California at Santa Cruz, Mr. Hayes has been involved with the electronics and test instrumentation industry since 1968. For the last twenty-five years he has been involved with fiber optics and communications. A frequent lecturer on communications, he writes monthly columns for Electrical Contractor and TED (The Electrical Distributor) and is also the author of THE FIBER OPTIC TECHNICIANS MANUAL, and numerous articles on fiber optics and cabling.

Fiber Optics Technican's Fourth Edition

Hayes provided much knowledgeable information on the history of Fiber Optics, technical specifications of strong importance to this modest society, review questioning or proven to be more likely on Certification Fiber Optics Technicians exam. The are a few diagrams and pictures to better understand the wiring of various Fiber Optics. The only down fall to me was not enough provided information on dbm and db how to calculations that has to learned in class. But everything else is knowledgeable in the field of Fiber Optics Technician. This book helped me become a Certified Fiber Optics Technician on November 21, 2014 :) !

Fiber Optics the new generation

I Ordered the manual Fiber Optics Technician's Manualhoping that it would have new ideas and latest technology included and was dissapointed in both departments. It covered fiber optics thoroughly up to the 1970/80's and for anyone that has been active in the field of fiber optics this is actually a waste of money.
I passed it on to my employees hoping that at least they would find some benefit but short of just getting some more detailed information I seriously doubt whether they could benefit from this in the practical enviroment.
To conclude this is a product for someone that is starting out on fiber optics and should be advertised as such.
